Your ambitions. Our connections.A THOUGHTFUL START
A card should make sense beyond its welcome offer. Consider where you spend, whether you expect to repay the full statement balance, and what you would actually use. We help you frame those questions before you continue with a card provider.
Availability, eligibility, approval, fees and terms are determined by the relevant provider.
BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
Three areas to explore with the provider before making a decision.
Compare annual fees, fee-waiver conditions, reward caps and eligible spending. A headline reward rate does not apply to every purchase.
Read the interest or profit terms, cash-advance charges, late-payment fees and foreign-currency costs in the provider’s Key Facts Statement.
Check the conditions behind airport lounge access, cashback, instalment plans and travel benefits. Ask about enrolment, spending thresholds and exclusions.
PREPARE YOUR ENQUIRY
Share an outline of your plans first. You do not need to send documents to start a conversation with AMAFH.

Credit cards · A PRACTICAL GUIDE
Use these considerations to prepare a focused enquiry. Compare the provider’s current written terms for your circumstances.
Make a short list of the purchases you put on a card most often: groceries, online shopping, fuel, dining or travel. Then check which purchases earn rewards and whether monthly caps, merchant categories or redemption rules reduce their usefulness. A benefit that sounds attractive may have little value if it does not match your routine.
Ask how the statement date, payment due date and payment allocation work together. Read the rules for carrying a balance, instalment plans and cash advances separately. Before using a promotional purchase offer, check what happens when it ends and whether processing charges apply. Build your comparison around repayment behaviour rather than rewards alone.
Card management matters after approval too. Ask about transaction notifications, temporarily freezing a card, replacing a lost card and reporting an unfamiliar transaction through the issuer’s official channels. Consider the annual fee at renewal, not only the first year. AMAFH can help you prepare these questions; the issuer confirms the available tools and conditions.
| Area to review | A useful question |
|---|---|
| Rewards | Which purchases qualify, where are the caps, and how can rewards be redeemed? |
| Repayment | What is the full cost if I carry a balance, use cash advances or take an instalment plan? |
| Travel | What are the foreign-currency charges and the conditions for any travel benefits? |
| Renewal | What will I pay after the introductory period, and what is needed for a fee waiver? |
A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Ask our teamNo. AMAFH is a commercial broker and service provider. The issuing bank assesses your application, decides the credit limit and sets the card terms.
Not necessarily. Compare the benefits you expect to use against annual fees, repayment costs and reward restrictions. Your spending pattern matters more than the headline offer.
A minimum payment is not the same as paying the statement in full. A remaining balance can attract charges under the issuer’s terms. Read the repayment illustration before using credit.
No. Eligibility, credit assessment and approval are the issuer’s decision. AMAFH cannot guarantee a card, credit limit or application outcome.
No. Check redemption values, minimum redemption amounts, expiry rules and eligible purchases. Compare the benefit you could actually use rather than treating every point as cash. The provider’s rewards terms explain the conversion and restrictions.
You can include this in your enquiry. Ask the issuer about eligibility, charges, spending controls and the primary cardholder’s repayment responsibilities. A supplementary card is subject to the issuer’s rules.

A CLOSER LOOK
Look at a credit card from both sides: what you would use it for and how you would repay the borrowing. Benefits make more sense when their conditions and costs are visible.
Begin with the purchases you already expect to make, rather than spending more to pursue a benefit. Everyday shopping, travel and occasional larger purchases may lead to different questions. Ask which transactions qualify for rewards, whether limits or exclusions apply and how a benefit is redeemed. Compare those conditions with the card’s ongoing costs so the enquiry reflects your habits, not just an attractive feature headline.
Ask the issuer to explain the statement date, payment due date and the difference between the total balance and the minimum payment. Paying the minimum does not necessarily prevent finance charges on the remaining balance. Different transaction types may have different charging rules, including cash advances and instalment arrangements. Read the current card terms before assuming that an interest-free period applies to every transaction or repayment pattern.
Joining or annual fees are only part of a card comparison. Ask about foreign-currency transactions, cash advances, late payments and any optional plans you might use. A fee waiver or promotional benefit can have its own qualifying conditions. Keep the bank’s fee schedule alongside the reward information and ask for an explanation of anything unclear before deciding whether the card fits the use you described.
YOUR NEXT STEP, CONSIDERED
Use this review to prepare a UAE credit-card enquiry. It helps you separate an appealing offer from the issuer’s actual conditions and your own repayment plan.
Start a focused conversationChoose a small number of relevant benefits and ask how each one works. Reward eligibility, redemption restrictions and qualifying spend can change the practical value of an offer. A feature you rarely use should not distract from the cost and repayment conditions you will encounter regularly.
Consider when money is available in your month and ask how the card’s payment dates are set. Understand the effect of paying less than the full balance. If you are considering an instalment or balance-transfer feature, request its own costs and repayment conditions separately.
Confirm the issuer, its current application requirements and where to read the complete card terms. Any limit and outcome depend on the bank’s assessment. Begin with your intended use and questions; leave private card, identity and account records for the issuer’s explained application process.
